When and how you get paid
Holiday Friends pays out to your bank. You stay in control of when.

Do I need to live in the city I sign up under?+
Yes — your services are local. You pick the city you live in or know best when you create your profile, and travellers find you by that city.
Is there a minimum time commitment?+
No. You decide your schedule, which services you offer, and how fast you reply. Many Local Friends start by replying to chat only, then add meet-ups once they see how it works.
Do I need to speak English?+
Helpful, but not required. The platform handles AI translation in chat, and some travellers specifically look for locals who speak their own language.
Can I do this alongside another job?+
Yes — most Local Friends start part-time. The schedule is entirely yours. The more responsive and active you are, the more travellers find you.
Are tips and gifts taxed differently?+
Earnings are earnings — they all convert to cash at the same rate. We don't provide tax advice; check the rules in your country.
What if a traveller is rude or unsafe?+
You can decline any connection, end any chat, and report users. Holiday Friends reviews all reports and removes bad actors. Your safety is non-negotiable.
